It appears as white mucus and may he ting with blood. Sometimes both baby boys and girls develop a swelling and fullness of their breast. They may actually secrete milk, which sometimes even exudes from the nipples. You should not squeeze this milk out deliberately; such squeez¬ing may result in an infection or an abscess. Both vaginal discharge and milk secretion are caused by maternal hormones which crossed the placenta: before birth.

The newborn usually passes urine in the first twelve hours, but delays up to 24 hours are not unusual. If the baby does not pass urine by then, inform your doctor. The baby's bowels usually start functioning in 24 hours. Initially, the child will pass a blackish motion, called meconium. The normal, yellow-colored motion appears only around the third or fourth day of life.

Tips to New Mothers - Part one

The newborn's genitals are usually disproportionately large, being swollen at birth. The swelling will gradually disappear .. In an uncircumcised baby boy, the foreskin normally adheres to his penis and should not be forcibly retracted. The foreskin naturally separates and becomes retractable as the child grows older.

The umbilical cord, which linked Baby to you, is cut and tied immediately after birth. It begins to dry and turn leathery soon afterwards and will fall off within 5-10 days. . A slight bulge around the umbilical cord may sometimes develop in the first month. Almost all newborns, upto the age of six months, have one eye wandering. This is normal and happens only because the baby's muscles have not yet become co¬ordinated. Doctors call it vernix caseosa and it is secreted by the foetus's skin glands. This is Nature's way of protecting the foetus's skin from the effect of the long exposure to the liquid environment found in the uterus. It will come off by itself in a few days. It can also be removed by rubbing oil over the baby. The newborn baby is also covered with fine, scarcely visible hair. This too will soon disappear, usually during the first month. At birth the baby is usually pink all over. But sometimes its hands and feet may be bluish for a few hours.

New Born Babies - doubts

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 255px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zp-lPclXJxg/TrVBfIfSxEI/AAAAAAAAAJM/9lQ8ghKRZOo/s400/9.jpg" border="0" alt="New Born Babies" Title="New Born Babies "id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5671511308853494850" />
At birth, most of the baby often has a fnll head of hair. This will, in most cases, be shed in the first ten months. Some babies grow a fnll head of hair quite quickly. Others do not have more hair for first few months. Rest assured that such growth does not mean the baby is going to end up being bald for life.

After the baby is born, this is generally the case if he has been exposed to cold. Make sure the baby is kept well wrapped and covered all the time. After all, he has come from the warmest, most secure place in the whole world - your womb. Try and give him in his first days as much of the same warmth outside.

Common Doubts about new Born babies

The common doubts about new born baby to the new mothers are listed here. Is he the right weight and length? What is this pink patch on his nape? Is his head in the right size? Does he seem cross-eyed? Are his ears shaped like cauliflowers? Such concern is natural. But if you know what to expect, your adjustment to motherhood will be quicker and you will be spared many an anxious moment. It is good to remember is that babies are individuals, each baby is different from the other, both physically and temperamentally.

When a proud friend tells you her baby weighed almost four kilos at birth and yours was only three, do not go into a tizzy. Your baby is as normal as can be. The average newborn weighs 2.7 kg. Since that is only an average you will find newborns weighing any¬where from 2.5 to 4 kg. The newborn's head circumference will vary from 33 to 35 cm and its body length from 47 to 50 cm. If your baby measures a little more or less than even these 'normal figures', he is still within the normal parameters.

Problems of Working Mothers

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 316px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vvKTMqtgLps/Tl-fKiI78zI/AAAAAAAAAI4/1-959GwHkmo/s400/22.jpg" border="0" alt="Bathing Baby" Title="Bathing Baby"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5647407461057688370" />
Many mothers, with babies younger than one year of age, are today working outside the home. The problem facing a working mother on the arrival of a baby are many. Should she give up her job? If not, when should she get back to work ? Should she breast-feed or not? How does she find a good caretaker or the right crèche?

If you are working out the necessity to supplement your household income, the question of giving up you job does not arise. But if you are working without any commitment and giving up you job does not entail any financial constraints, you can either give up your work or take leave to look after your baby. Remember, whether you are a working mother or a house wife, it does not affect the baby in the least, provided you can organize effective care for the child.

Tips to new mothers

The umbilical cord, which linked Baby to you, is cut and tied immediately after birth. It begins to dry and turn leathery soon afterwards and will fall off within 5-10 days. A slight bulge around the umbilical cord may sometimes develop in the first month. This too is not uncommon and is not dangerous; it generally disappears by the end of the first year.

The newborn's genitals are usually disproportionately large, being swollen at birth. The swelling will gradually disappear. In an uncircumcised baby boy, the foreskin normally adherers to his penis and should not be forcibly retracted. The foreskin naturally separates and becomes retractable as the child grows older. In the case of newborn girls, there is often a vaginal discharge in the first days after bith. It appears as white mucus and may be tinged with blood.

Solid food for babies

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 258px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G-cNiWhkPzU/TXupQ5CCVhI/AAAAAAAAAIc/TLG8tDVzcik/s400/24.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5583242270708225554" />

All baby food, to start with, must be hand-mashed, blended, ground or liquidized. Fruit and vegetables can be blended, raw or after cooking. Meats have to be cooked for easier blending. Most foods need water or some other liquid, like milk, juice or stock, added to them to get a good consistency - especially when the baby is very young Large amounts can be made at one time and frozen, either in ice-cube trays or in individual servings, so busy mothers can defrost them one at a time.

Cooking for Baby does not require the skills of a gourmet cook. All it takes is common sense, fresh and wholesome ingredients, scrupulous hygiene and lover for your Baby. The most dramatic of them occur between birth and one year. Each and every moment of them will make you react. A child goes through many stages. Some moments bring pleasure, others bring pain. If you know what to expect, your adjustment to every new situation will be quicker and your joy in each the greater.

Baby - playing photos

<img style="display:block; All of us have certain beliefs regarding food for children. Often, many mothers feel that bananas cause phlegm, that cereals are bad for the liver, that orange juice makes the child prone to coughs and colds, etc.

All these beliefs are baseless and wrong. No item of food is bad for the child unless he is sick or has an allergy to a particular type of food. There are a variety of foods to choose from and an appetizing meal can be made by the blending different kinds of food to suit your baby’s palate.

New born baby – vomiting or spitting-up problem

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 298px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TQy7mzf2DxI/AAAAAAAAAG8/LAebEw1PoeI/s400/28.jpg" border="0" alt="Baby photo" title="Baby photo"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5552018715974176530" />
Babies often spit up a small amount of food after a feed. This is quite normal. Babies may even vomit during or after a feeding, then they become less full and want more nourishment. If a baby throws up all or most of a feed occasionally, it is possible that the mother’s breast milk supply may have been especially generous. Or that the bottle’s nipple holes were too large. In this situation, the breast-feeding mother should express some milk at the beginning of each feed and not begin to nurse until the flow has lessened. For bottle fed babies, nipples with smaller holes should be used.

New born baby - vomiting problem

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 287px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TQMO22a1BoI/AAAAAAAAAG0/gZNMQK0tyUE/s400/23.jpg" border="0" alt="Beautiful baby photo" title="Beautiful baby photo"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5549295501334349442" />

Hi- Occasional spitting up or vomiting is usual not a cause for concern. More and more doctors recommend nursing for its ease, its nutrition and its special joy. Before you nurse, you must understand the nursing isn’t a test of your maternal ability, but the completion of a natural cycle. It is also very convenient. However, nursing is an individual decision. Your decision to breast feed is one with which you should feel comfortable. On the other hand, if your feelings are not as enthusiastic as the Earth Mother type, you may still want to give it a try. Some women who have started hesitantly have become strong advocates of breast feeding.

Common problems in Infancy

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 126px; height: 84px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TOIOW6w2IHI/AAAAAAAAAFw/CH2K8g9hFN0/s400/images.babies%2Bjpg.jpg" border="0" alt="babies" title="babies"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5540006278513172594" />
With parenthood comes new responsibilities, new worries. Many doubts and questions arise, and you will face many, many anxious moments. All of this begins when your baby is an infant and unfortunately, never quite ends.

Parents need to be sure that their baby is growing normally. This can be confirmed by regular physical examinations. Nevertheless, there are worries from time to time. Sometimes your baby’s nose will run, sometimes his stomach will ache. He will be a perfect little angel during the day, but a howling banshee every evening. What are you supposed to do if he get up with sticky eyes and can’t open his eyelids? And what if he is straining to pass a bowel movement?

A number of these conditions may worry new parents. But all of them are quiet normal. If you know what to expect, you should be able to take them in your stride and handle more wisely every condition as it comes up.

Tips to New mothers - Burping baby

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 332px; height: 361px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TNd1Q6hGhkI/AAAAAAAAAFg/Bps2hRrRKTU/s400/Burping+baby.jpg" border="0" alt="Tips to New mothers" title="Tips to New mothers"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537023200321766978" />

Even breast-fed babies will sometimes swallow a little air. Be sure to burp him at least once during the feeding as well as afterwards. No two babies burp alike. But until you know your baby’s style, bring up the bubbles by rubbing gently up and down along his spine, especially between the shoulder blades, while he falls over your hand or your shoulder. This pressure forces more gas from the area, stomach afterwards, the last bubbles usually come up in about fifteen minutes. Some babies bring up a bit of milk now and then. This is harmless. If no burp is forthcoming, don’t try to force one; perhaps your baby hasn’t swallowed any air and doesn’t need to burp.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 170px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TNd1duIEX9I/AAAAAAAAAFo/E1Kw_oncIg4/s400/Burping+baby+positions.jpg" border="0" alt="Burping baby positions" title="Burping baby positions"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537023420333842386" />

Babies Bottle feeding problems

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TM_sZ4BL6yI/AAAAAAAAAFY/RtRtb_5RXmw/s400/bottle-feeding-baby2.jpg" border="0" alt="Bottle feeding Baby" title="Bottle feeding Baby"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534902396339874594" />
Sometimes the baby refuses to drink his milk though he is hungry. This is commonly happens if the teat is blocked with milk particles and the milk does not flow in spite of Baby’s suckling. Babies also refuse milk if it is too hot or too cold, or if the milk is not to their taste (he knows his sugar and his brand). There are also times when a vacuum is created in the bottle and he is not able to suck – this is especially so if the teat is soft. The teat must be change at least once in a month.

Before feeding, check the temperature of the milk by putting a drop of milk on the back of your hand. The temperature should be just hot enough. Hold the bottle obliquely so that the teat is full of milk while feeding. If there is a vacuum, release it by lifting the edge of the teat and allowing some air to enter the bottle.

Thumb sucking and pacifiers

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 359px; height: 270px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TL3CHSUDWUI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/hOYOJNBLCSk/s400/thumb-sucking+girl.jpg" border="0" alt="Thumb sucking girl" title="Thumb sucking girl"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529789347911653698" />

During a baby's first year of life, he will put anything he can lay his hands on into his mouth. This is because he feels things, at this stage, primarily with his mouth and tongue. Later, infants develop thumb sucking or similar habits. These habits develop when they are tired, hungry, bored or frustrated. To solve the problem, feed the child if he is hungry. To relieve boredom and frustration, create a new suitable activity for the child. Talk to the child and play simple games that actively involve him.

If thumb sucking is only at bedtime, do nothing. Do not use thumb guards or apply pungent food or tie a cloth around the thumb. It may result in the baby's acquiring other, perhaps less desirable, habits such as head banging, tongue sucking, removing hair from his own head etc.

Baby’s solid foods

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TK4C02FkyYI/AAAAAAAAAFI/V77smr8gfrM/s400/Baby+eating+food.jpg" border="0" alt="Baby eating food" title="Baby eating food"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525356899725527426" />

Once your baby has settled into a good breast-feeding, or bottle feeding, routine, thee is no need to introduce him to any solid food till he is four months old. By then, his nutritional needs would have grown and you will find it difficult to sustain him on milk alone. At this stage start him off gradually on solid foods. Being fed solid food is a whole new kind of experience for a baby. It is also a major step towards eventual independence. And you will be filled with a new joy when baby takes his first tiny teaspoonful of kheer or Khichadi.

Try to introduce various tastes to baby because his taste buds are pure (i.e.) unsullied. To the baby salt is saltier and sugar is sweeter. This will, in most cases be shed in the first ten months. Some babies grow a full head of hair quite quickly. Others do not have lots of hair for moths. Rest assured that such growth does not mean the baby is going to end up being bald for life. The shape of the ears differs from child to child due to familial variations. Some times a skin tag may be seen on the ear. These tags should be shown to the doctor before they are tied.

The shape of a baby’s head varies a great deal. This due to the baby forcing its way out of your body. There is sometimes a uniform swelling but this usually disappears in two or three days. However, if the swelling is localized on one side of the head and is confined to the limits of the bone, it is due to the blood collection on the outer surface of the skull bone. This is called Cephal Haematoma and usually disappears in about 4-6 weeks. For all your doubts you can consult your doctor.

Baby’s Birthday celebration

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TGwIHIRVgBI/AAAAAAAAAEw/20_zHu41uAQ/s400/Diya-1st-Birthday-002.jpg" border="0" alt="Baby’s Birthday celebration" title="Baby’s Birthday celebration"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506785362939576338" />
Every year, you can celebrate your baby’s birthday. But the first birthday is very special and memorable. So plan in advance and make all arrangements for your baby’s birthday party. Invite your guests in advance over phone or by sending email or cards. The party time lasts for one hour to one and half hours. You can plan it in the evening and it is very nice for all.

Arrange the area with balloons. Babies love balloons. Give small gifts like toys, balloons to the babies who attend the party. Many babies like to play during the party. So arrange the function in a baby proof play zone and make arrangements to fill the area with toys that suits your little guest. Arrange the chairs around the zone, so parents can relax and watch their children playing.

Tips to new parents- 1

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 273px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TFxKSV9a5WI/AAAAAAAAAEo/TchzpoJ5sAw/s400/M12.jpg" border="0" alt="Smiling baby" title="Smiling baby"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5502354523732764002" />
Many people think one of the first things a mother asks is whether the baby is a boy or girl. In fact, her first questions are generally whether or not the baby is normal and how much he weighs. Even after you have been reassured that Baby is fine and you have held him and counted all his ten fingers and ten toes, there may be times when you feel anxious. Is his head the right size ? Does he seem cross eyed ? Such concern is natural. But if you know what to expect, you adjustment to motherhood will be quicker and you will be spared many an anxious moment.

A good rule to remember is that babies are individuals, each different from the other, both physically and temperamentally. When a proud friend tells you her baby weighted almost four kilos at birth and yours was only thee do not go into tizzy. Your baby is as normal as can be.

Baby rashes problem

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 113px; height: 113px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TC3CG6Mp4TI/AAAAAAAAAEg/MVjRBt72uJA/s400/Rashes+baby.jpg" border="0" alt="baby rashes" title="baby rashes"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5489256944791839026" />
If you find some red spots or pink pimples on a baby’s cheeks, don’t worry, it may be a child’s first rash. Most of parents become panic on seeing these rashes. But these rashes are simply our skin’s way of reacting to certain irritants, infections or hormonal changes, and generally are not a cause for alarm. “Because their immune systems are still developing, young children are more sensitive to chemicals, viruses and bugs than we are,” says the Chief Doctor of pediatric dermatology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. “As a result, there are hundreds of different rashes they can get.”

Usually most rashes are harmless and they will fade gradually in a day or two. There are some rashes, like eczema, that can be treated with medication. Some type of rashes on the skin is contagious. It is difficult to distinguish one type from another; so better to consult a pediatrician or your family doctor when you see rashes on your child’s skin. If a rash is accompanied by high fever immediately consult the Doctor.

Tips to handle Small babies during temperature

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 276px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TCdB3IJWGTI/AAAAAAAAAEY/qxRDyPrsXEE/s400/baby+girl.jpg" border="0" alt="one year baby" title="one year baby"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5487427086309529906" />
Small babies need to be relaxed at all times; the body temperature should neither be too cold nor too hot. Fever among babies is a normal happening and though this is no cause to apprehension regarding your baby’s safety. You should take certain safety measures and it will certainly help. If the body temperature of your baby constantly keeps high, you should immediately consult the doctor. Before going to doctor keep small piece of cloth soaked in ice water and put it in your baby’s forehead. This will reduce the temperature.

Then go to the Doctor and he will give medicines. Follow the instructions correctly. Give him easy digestible foods. Don’t use the prescription for the next time. If you find the same problem with your baby again consult the Doctor. This is most important. During Summer, like adults babies need less clothing and during winter they need well protection you should wrap him with a blanket.

Loving Parent

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 375px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TA5MGYWe1AI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/mk0l1y4cZnc/s400/suri_baby.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5480401469056144386" />

Most of us, when family life is running with fair smoothness, get cross or angry only during occasional crises, though as we all know, there are more of these on some days than others. A loving parent who feels angry most of the time is suffering from real emotional strain and deserves help from a psychiatrist or a social worker.

The way we avoid irritation the rest of the time, whether we realize it or not, is by keeping our children under responsible control and by being extra firm or sufficiently disapproving when things first threaten to go wrong. Such firmness is one aspect of parental love. Firmness by keeping children on the right track, keeps them lovable. And they love us for keeping them out of troubles.

Children behavior and parents role

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 282px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/TARpP6MzJCI/AAAAAAAAAEI/H3nRg004iQ4/s400/mischevous+boy.JPG" border="0" alt="mischievous boy" title="mischievous"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5477618768831259682" />
I think that idealistic young persons approaching parenthood assume that if they are the right sort they will have unlimited love, tolerance and patience for their innocent baby. But this is not humanly possible. When your baby has been crying angrily for hours, despite all your patient efforts to comfort him, you cannot go on feeling sympathetic. He seems like a obstinate, disagreeable, unappreciative person, and you cannot help feeling angry really angry. Or your older child has done something that he knows very well he should not have done. May be he was so fascinated with a breakable object of yours or so eager to join some children on the other side of the street that he count not resist the temptation.

All good parents feel strongly about what they are doing whether it is right or wrong. You child misbehaved or when a child disobeys a well understood and reasonable rule, you cannot simply be a cool statue of justice. In other words, parents cannot feel right toward their children in the long run unless they can make them behave reasonably. Generally you were taught to feel that way back in your own childhood. It is your rule that has been broken in your childhood. It is probably your possession that has been damaged,. It’s your child, about whose character you care a great deal, who has done wrong. It’s inevitable that you feel indignant. The child naturally expects this and is not hurt by it if your reaction is fair.

Babies sleeping pattern

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/S-6KoroMvwI/AAAAAAAAAEA/dCDiSJkctak/s400/baby+new+born.jpg" border="0" alt="sleeping baby" title="sleeping baby"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5471463028812463874" />
You know new born babies sleep almost 20 hours. But it differs from baby to bay. The new mothers always have the doubt that their babies sleep is enough for their health. Babies need much sleep in their beginning stage to develop properly. Babies sleeping hours differ according to their age.

In the first week, babies sleep almost 20 hours and it reduce gradually. In the first month, it takes 18 hours and if they are 3 months old it takes 17 hours and 6 months 16 hours / 9 months- 15 hours and when your baby is now one year old and now he or she only sleep 14 hours a day. These guidelines are only for reference not a rule.

Tips to new mothers

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/S-bsVitzp6I/AAAAAAAAAD4/qXNyeiQ8KPE/s400/baby.13.JPG" border="0" alt="crying baby" title="crying baby"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469318652328388514" />

Your newborn baby cries. Don’t panic. He is having pain or hungry or he is wet. He cries every time. Newborns usually cry to bring the attention of mother. In the first week of his life, he is crying sometimes a reflexive behavior. So don’t get panic. First important thing is you should step back, relax for a while take a deep breath, and remember that new born babies are supposed to cry. If your baby cries feed him and make him comfortable.

You know infants’ growth in the brain and nervous system are amazing in first 6 weeks, a baby gains more control over his crying. With every passing month, he will make more sophisticated connections between his crying and your reactions.

Baby care tips

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 220px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/S9P6sAQMUVI/AAAAAAAAADw/XwKsiEsMLdw/s400/baby.jpg" border="0" alt="Smiling baby" Title="Smiling baby"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463986406819647826" />

Having a baby is a pleasure in life. Further more, all parents do their best job when they have a natural easy confidence in themselves. Better to make a few mistakes from being natural than to do every thing letter perfect out of a feeling of worry.

Parental classes for expectant mothers and fathers are provided in many hospitals. They are very helpful in discussing the questions and problems that all expectant parents have concerning pregnancy, delivery, and care of the baby etc.

Parents Part in baby care

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 216px; height: 178px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_LyB756qoPQc/S7yg-vF0naI/AAAAAAAAADg/TcsjzRRsulg/s400/healthy-baby-.jpg" border="0" alt="Healthy baby" Title="Healthy baby"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457413848119418274" />
The most important thing I have to say is that you should not take too literally what is said in this blog. Every child is different, every parent is different, every illness or behavior problem is somewhat different from every other. All I can do is describe the most common developments and problems in the most general terms. Remember that you know a lot about your child and that I don’t know anything about him. So I have tried to give a more balanced view.

Don’t take too seriously what your neighbors say about baby care. Don’t be overawed by what the experts say. Don’t be afraid about pregnancy to trust your own common sense. Bringing up your child is a pleasure and it won’t be complicated job if you take it easy, trust your own instincts, and follow the directions that your doctor gives you. We know for a fact that the natural loving care that kindly parents give their children is a hundred times more valuable than their knowing how to pin a diaper on just right or how to make a formula expertly. Every time you pick your baby up, even if you do it a little awkwardly at first, every time you change him, bath him, feed him, smile at him, he is getting a feeling that he belongs to you and that you belong to him. Nobody else in the world, no matter how skillful, can give that to him.

Parents Part in baby care – Part I

Soon you are going to have a baby or may be you have him already. You are happy and excited, but if you have not had much experience, you wonder whether you are going to know how to do a good job. Lately you have been listening more carefully to your friends and relatives when they talk about bringing up a child. You have begun to read articles by experts in the magazines and newspapers.

After the baby is born, the doctor and nurses will be to give you instructions too. Some times it sounds like a very complicated business. You find out all the vitamins a baby needs and all the inoculations. One mother tells you that egg should be given early because of its iron, and another says that egg should be delayed to avoid allergy. You hear that a baby is easily spoiled by being picked up too much but also that a baby must be cuddled plenty; that fairy tales make children nervous and that fairy tales are a wholesome out let.

Sleeping babies

I have been saying that if the baby who generally can go 4 hours wakes after 3 or 3 1/2 hours and seems really hungry, t is all right to feed him then. But suppose he wakes an hour or so after his last feeding. If he finished his usual bottle at his last feeding, the chances are against this being hungry again so soon. It is more likely that he has been waked by indigestion or colic.

You can try burping him again, or see whether he will be comforted by a couple of ounces of water or a pacifier. I would not be in a rush to feed him again, though you may decide to try it in a little while if nothing else works. You cannot be sure it is hunger just because a baby tries to eat his hand or starts to takes the bottle eagerly. Often a baby who is having colic will do both these things. It seems the baby himself cannot distinguish between colic pains and hunger pains. In other words, you don't always feed a baby when he cries. If he is crying at the wrong times, you have to study that the situation and perhaps discuss it with you doctor.

Parents duties and work for growing babies

There is an enormous amount of hard work in child care - preparing the proper diet, washing diapers and clothes, cleaning up messes that an infant makes with his food and that an older child makes with his play, stopping fights and drying tears, listening to stories that are hard to understand, joining in games and reading stories that are not very exciting to an adult, trudging around zoos and museums and carnivals, responding to pleas for held with homework, being slowed down in house work, yard work, and cellar work by eager helpers, going to Parent-Teacher Association meetings on tired evenings.

Childcare's needs account for a good part of the family budget, from the high rent or mortgage on a large enough house to the shoes that were out or are outgrown in no time at all. This is particularly true of the baby who develop colic; the pressure on the abdomen seems to partly relieve the gas pains.

Others either don't care at first or prefer sleeping on their back. There are two disadvantages to a baby sleeping on his back. If he vomits, he's more likely to choke on the vomits. Also he tends to keep his head turned toward the same side-usually toward the center of the room. This may flatten that side of his head. It won't hurt his brain and the head will gradually straighten out, but it may take a couple of years.

Baby diapers - doubts

For babies there are diaper liners, made of paper, to put in the diaper at the time of day when bowl movements are expected, to keep the diaper from becoming soiled. There are liners, made of treated cloth that dries rapidly, that are meant to keep the baby's skin from staying too wet.

Waterproof pants or " soakers " (the latter are knitted wool pants), over the diapers, area special help when you are going places with the baby. You may want to use the soakers at home, too, if washing them is not a burden. Whether you use waterproof pants at home depends on how well the baby's skin stands up. When the baby has no waterproof pants on, a lot of the urine in the diaper is absorbed into the surrounding clothing or evaporated. With waterproof pants the diapers stay much wetter and warmer, and bacteria accumulate in them. This favours the formation of ammonia and diaper rash. As long as your baby's skin is clear in the diaper region, you can use pants as much as is convenient. When there is diaper rash,leave them off. It probably helps to wash the pants with soap and water each day and hang them in the sum tokill the germs that make ammonia.

Father's Part - new born baby

The father is apt to feel particularly left out during the hospital period with his first baby. He helps to get his wife safely to the hospital, where there are dozens of people o take care of her. Then he's really alone, with nothing to do outside of working hours. He can sit in the waiting room with some old magazines and worry about how the labor is going, or he can go to his unbelievably lonely home.

A father should not be surprised if he finds that he has mixed feelings at times toward his wife and toward his baby during all the commotion of the hospital stage and after they are all home again. Most women need a great deal of support and comfort from their husbands at this time. To be able to give a lot to the baby they must receive more than usual. Partly it is practical help - with the care of the baby, with the housework. Even more it is moral support; patience, understanding, appreciation, affection. The father's job may be complicated by the fact that if his wife is tired and upset she won't have the spirit to be charming and appreciative of his efforts. In fact, she may be complaining. But if he realizes how much she needs his help and love, it will encourage him to give it any way.

Doubts about new born

Most women find that they are more anxious than usual the first few weeks at home. They worry about the baby's crying and fretful spells, suspecting that something is seriously wrong. They worry about every sneeze and every spot of rash. They tiptoe into the baby's room to see whether he is still breathing. It is probably instinctive for mothers to be overly protective at this period. I suppose it is Nature's way of being sure that the millions of new mothers throughout the world, some of whom may be immature and careless. take their new responsibility seriously. A little worrisome might be a good thing for some irresponsible types. But of course it hits hardest the very conscientious ones who need it least. Fortunately it wears off.

Get the guidance from your grand mother. A grandmother can help the mother do a good job by showing her confidence in her and fitting in with her methods as far as posible. This puts the mother in a mood to ask advice when she is in doubt.

How much a baby sleep ?

There are many doubts for mothers about their baby. Mothers often ask this question How much should a baby sleep? Of course, the baby is the only one who can answer it. One baby seems to need a lot and another surprisingly little. As long as a baby is satisfied with his feedings, comfortable, gets plenty of fresh air and sleeps in a cool place you can leave it to him take the amount of sleep he needs.

Most babies in he early months sleep from feeding to feeding if they are getting enough to eat and not having indigestion. There are a few babies though who are unusually wakeful right from the beginning, and not because of anything is wrong. If you have this kind of baby, there is nothing you need to do about it.

Thumb-sucking baby - problem

You should pay attention to thumb-sucking is when the baby first tries to do it, not when he finally succeeds. I make this point because there are lot of babies who, for the first few months of their lives, haven't much control over their arms. You see such a baby struggling to get his hands up, and searching around with his mouth. If ny good luck he gets his fist to his mouth, he sucks it vigorously as long as it happens to stay there. This baby, just as much as the real thumb-sucker, is showing a need to such longer at the breast or bottle.

In most cases thumb-sucking was very mild. Many babies do a little thumb-sucking off and on. They get over it quickly, whether you do anything or not. I think, that restraints only make the confirmed thumb-sucker do it more in the long run.

Tips to bath baby

The baby can be bathed in tub. You can bath and dress the baby on a low table, at which you sit a card table with stady legs is a good size or you can sit on a high stool. A folding, fabric bathtub is convenience if you can afford it and have a room for it. The tub part is made of waterproof material hung from a fram on high legs. It is high enough so that you don't break your back while bathing the baby. When the bathing is finished, a flat canvas top covers the tub, and on this the baby an be dried, dressed and changed. You can use a baby soap and baby shamppoo for the baby. After finishing bathing, dry with a towel and add lot of baby powder and put cotton dress.
